Cinctures
( number of products: 6 )When a priest, a deacon or an altar boy wear a loose alb, it is common to secure it with a cincture. Known in England as a girdle and coming from a Latin word cingulum, that piece of liturgical vestment is supposed to ensure freedom of movement when the worn attire is not fitting perfectly.
Cinctures are available in all liturgical colours. We ensure the girdles keep their pleasing look even after a long time, so you do not have to worry about fading of the dye. Just remember to use only those detergents which have no bleach in them and not to tumble dry.
As a traditional article of liturgical vestment, cingula have a rope-like appearance. They are decorated with fitting tassels in matching colour. The effect is so pleasing, that no other decoration is needed. Available cinctures are 158 inches long (4 meters). The length lets the ends of girdle to hang off, but if you do not like it, you can always loop it twice around your waist and just then tie a knot.
If you are interested in slightly more modern catholic vestments, try wide, decorated belts with rope sections attached.
